Planning on baby proofing one of my cages. I understand that i need to get hardware cloth but i have never used it before. Is there a type of hardware I'll need to attach the hardware cloth to the cage? Sorry if there is already a post out there asking this.

I hate working with hardware cloth. I had to use it when I was using a large parrot cage and the two chinchillas in it kept escaping.

It isn't a cloth at all but very stiff so you will want wire cutters and several pliers so you can bend it and shape it. I think any kind of metal, bendable links would work to attach the pieces, like they use to make rabbit cages. I attached mine with pieces of wire but it was very time-consuming.

Use gloves if you can when working with it. My hands got really beaten up.

I agree. My hands & nails got beat up and I just couldn't work with it and gave up and bought a new cage. I ended up getting a small/medium bird cage for $45 but I needed it fairly quickly.
