Ebony question

A few years ago, I remember a thread that mentioned a red diamond that appears on the head of some ebonies. Does anyone have a picture of this? And does the diamond disappear as the chinchilla gets older? I have a little dark ebony boy who had a roughly diamond shaped reddish brown area on his head and was curious if that is what I am seeing.

We have found over the years that the reddish brown diamond in an animal many times indicates that the animal will be very clear. It will fade as the animal matures.

Post #19, last picture in the thread. This boy was only about 4.5mos at the time of show and he WAS shown. It had cleared by that time. Also noteworthy, even at his age he took res.phase champ The picture attached is the same chin day of the show. Not too shabby.
