Do Chinchillas need shots?

I have been attempting to rehome 3 chinchillas and this one person has been scolding me for not getting my Chinchillas vaccination shots. In fact she thinks ALL animals, including smaller rodents need vaccines . do they need them? first I've ever heard of it! my Exotics vet never mentioned it that's for sure!

No, chinchillas do not get vaccinated.

I'm not even sure what exactly you would vaccinate chinchillas against :hmm:. Being careful not to spread contamination between species, especially rabbits, hygienic conditions and good husbandry are important considerations.

No, chinchillas don't need shots. Maybe she's thinking chihuahua dog. I sometimes will call vet hospitals to see if they take chinchillas and they think i'm talking about the dog.
