Why do baby chins have such a pronounced forehead, physiologically speaking? It's painfully cute, but I wonder what is purpose is, as adults don't seem to have that bump shape?
 
I ask because it reminds me of the shape of a beluga's cranium

Haha, oh that's funny, I never would have thought of that.

I'm not sure of the exact reason, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm sure that they're shaped like that because like humans their skulls are still growing as babies and if as they grow so will their head which means that basically it's a regular chinchillas head/face just all smushed up because it hasn't grown and streched out a little yet.
