These look like grapevine, which I heard is fine for chinchillas, but thought I'd check with the all knowing chinchilla board. ;) Thanks guys!

Curious what these are made of, too, and if you all think they would be okay for my lil furbaby. :3

[I have the ability to get this for around $60, and as I haven't been doing art commissions online, my paypal is empty and I need to buy things I can access in my own area. If you know anyone in the SLC, UT area that sells things chinchillas can use, please tell me! ]

I know, lots of items to review, but it would really be appreciated. :kiss:

the branches and what not are for birds but usually i wouldn't trust pets part stuff unless it's the natural wood chews that all breeders recommend. Like apple wood chews or anything natural. It is better safe than sorry i say. =)

Safe woods:

* apple
* arbutus
* ash
* aspen
* bamboo
* blackberrry
* blackcurrant
* cholla
* cottonwood
* crabapple
* dogwood
* elm
* grapevine
* hawthorn

I have used manzanita perches from Petsmart with no problems. It says on the tag that they are heat treated at made in the USA. I had a branch in one of my cages for a year and a half and never had any problems.

Here's a more complete list. Manzanita is on this list.

I personally don't like painted cages and even at 60.00 I would not spend that type of money on a travel cage. Its cute but I rather have the chin in a tighter space in case of accident-less chance of the chin ricocheting around the cage in a car accident.

I've used both grapevine and manzanita perches from petstores before with no problems. I would not use the bamboo ones as bamboo splinters and can hurt your chin.

I personally wouldn't use the driftwood pieces as I don't know if they're prepared the same as perches, but that's just me.

And for travel the smaller the space the better it is, so that your chin can't fly around in case of an accident.

I'm sure if you ask most places will take a money order to pay for things. Takes a few extra days to get there but you can probably get better stuff for less money.
