Good Morning! Recently I bought a large mesh tent for my chinchilla to run around in. Usually he runs around in my bathroom, but it's too small of an area for him to run around in/he now gets bored because he's explored every part of the bathroom and always tries to burrow underneath the door...

You might want to leave a little night light or a salt lamp on near the cage. My chinchilla, Po, freaks out and screeches if my salt lamp is turned off. It's almost as if he's afraid of the dark? Which is really weird considering they're supposed to be nocturnal, but he has stopped making sad...

Thank you guys so much! I was so worried, but I think it's nothing now since he's still acting normal. :)

Ok. :) I got Po when he was about a month old and he was really loving until I got Blip. I'm glad it's just an age phase he is going through... This puts my mind at ease, haha. Now about scritches... I don't know if he likes or hates them - sometimes he moves away and refuses and other times...

My chinchilla is only around 4 months (almost five!) and he's acting really grouchy. My boyfriend says he caught Po self gratifying in his cage today, and he has been tending to his nether regions lately... Could this be the start of puberty? And will he grow out of the sulkiness?

I recently adopted my chinchilla, Po. :) He's very cute and does not hesitate to talk to you! I love him a lot and am glad to find others that love their chinchillas just as much as I do! This is such a wonderful site.
