i love my chinzillas
Is it safe for me to use the zoo med aspen bedding that is used for snakes? I have a huge bag of it here for my snakes, and am about to switch over to fleece liners and aspen litter box... is this okay?

it says

Sorry, but I wouldn't use it unless it says kiln dried. That process is what kills all of the harmful bacteria, bugs and parasites from what I understand. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the actual process will chime in.

Aspen is fine to use. It does not need to be kiln dried like pine.
Really? I thought I read that everything had to be kiln dried. That's good to know!

I would say about 98% of wood shavings meant for bedding is kiln dried, anyway.
