Wrong Gender??

I took Flynn into his play room and I figured i would do a hair ring check since I had the assistant of my boyfriend. Upon trying to do so, going off of a video I saw posted, nothing happened, as in I didn't say Chin malehood and I trided a few more time. I'm including a picture in hopes someone can help me, maybe i'm doing it wrong? It's a little blurry, so hopefully you can see what I mean.
