My young beige's ears were just turning pink!
I took him out of the cage for a few minutes and they toned down back to their usual color. But once he was back in the cage they turned bright pink again! My housemates and I haven't used our heat before tonight, so maybe he is just not used to it yet? It isn't very warm in here either, like low 60s...

Any input or advice? He has a marble slab in his cage...

I know heat can cause it but it isn't that warm, is he in danger?

I wouldn't worry. Sometimes an ear will get a little pink just from the chin leaning up against something and letting the ear get warm. It happens all the time with chins in pairs...one chin will snuggle up to the other and the ear will be up against the other chin's fur - the ear gets warm and turns pink and seems to wilt a bit.

I do have to admit that the first time I saw that happen it scared me half to death! Back then we didn't have message boards or forums, we had newsgroups. I think that I posted about it to the chin newsgroup we had then... The forums are much better than that was! :)
