Just an update so everyone knows what is going on and why I haven't been on the forum in a while.

Well, still working on the Canada move, applying to universities to further my degree and that takes a lot of time.

Well, last week my manager gave his two week resignation, and, in the banking industry, if you are in management then usually they take your keys et all, and send you on your way immediately. This is because one could potentially start recruiting current customers to follow you to the new bank.

So, my manager came in on Monday morning and told me that he resigned and handed me his keys and was out the door and I have been trying to "catch up" on everything he left undone (it is apparent now that he "checked out" several months ago). So, it has been 11 or 12 hour days and by the time I take the chins out for playtime, it is time for bed and up again for another day of work.

I have declined the manager position, only because I may be moving away, so it would be a rotten thing to take a position and leave it 4 months later. So, right now it is hectic, however I should have some relief very soon as the regional manager is hiring someone very soon.

So, that's it in a nutshell...

Just didn't want people to question or worry. The chins are doing great, although I feel like I am not spending as much time with them as I have in the past, however, by next month I will not be as busy.

Nice choice:wink2: (even though I'm moving to the north shore cause I don't really like living in the city...). I good luck with everything.

Well, I am sure that eventually I will want a a more rural area at some point, but, for now, I am looking forward to the city, plus almost everyone is bilingual, which cannot be said for rural Quebec.

Well in the city, mostly the West-Island and Downtown are fully bilingual ( meaning you get served in english first...grrr..). I'm on the limit of Ahuntsic and Montreal-North and I can tell ya that some people's only english word are "yes" "no" "toaster"! To my suprise, some districs of Laval (where I'll be moving) are very "anglophone". Even in my hometown (motsly french speaking), I've seen (or hear) english speaking person.

The most beautiful place in Quebec I've been to is a place called Jonquiere. There was only 1 girl there that I met that spoke English. That was great because I really wanted to improve my French.

Oh, and FiaSpice, I totally feel your pain, but in a different way. Whenever I go anywhere and talk to people in French (who are French), they immediately start to speak in English! Even when I insist on French, they get irritated. grrrrr... I hear some French people sometimes complaining that English people don't learn French (which is true to a point), but then I get shot down when I do! I know that some of them are doing it to be nice, but when I insist and they get crabby, that's when I have a problem with it!

I stayed in Quebec (Quebec City) for a week a few years ago... was a great experience. Had breakfast at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac and a smaller place I think was called "The Crazy Pig" (in french) ... touristy snowtubing, dog sledding, etc. I regret not eating Poutine but I dislike gravy.

I've always been so-so at being conversational in Spanish, that was my language of choice in school - so only once did I get spoken to in French - and they spoke first!

I just love when english speaker make an effort to speak french, even if that mean saying funny things. When my ex and I went to Toronto, he was in Starbuck (while I was attending the Spice Girl concert) and one of the barista went to him and praticed his french. IMO, I think every Canadian should speak a bit of french or english (depending on their mother tongue)
