Ive been reading the post with all the safe wood types and where can i get some??
I wanna make little designs to make a themed cage so i wanna make cut outs and attach them to ledges and what not
Any suggestions on how to make a themed cage look nice?
Any theme suggestions?
Im not yet completely sure what i wanna do i was thinking possibly dinosaurs to go with him chew toy

If you're talking about wood for shelves/ledges (such as pine and poplar) Lowes, Home Depot, and such sell the boards in their shelving section (at least that's where I found my untreated wood). If you mean for toys, I have no clue.

Designs? I'm not very 'artsy' so I can't help you.

Ok thanks well im buying all the shelves online i was pretty much just gonna like cut out dino shapes and attach them to the front of hid ledges... If that makes any sense

That's for woods you harvest yourself from nature. Wood you buy is usually already prepared. And it might be cheaper to buy your own wood and make shelves and cut them out than buying premade shelves.

I made shelves a few months ago (6 total) ranging from 2x18" 4x22" and 2x40" including 'lips' and it cost me about $40-50, I forget the final price.

All you need is a saw to cut the wood, or they'll cut it to length at Lowes or Home Depot. The hanging hardware can be attached without tools.

you need to buy kiln dried pine, or another heat treated wood that is on the safe wood list. we get ours at home depot & lowes.
we dont do too many fancy shapes but my fiance' makes all the shelves and houses and any other wood accessories for my boys cages. some chew it, some dont........but in case you have a chewer, you definitely want something safe!

Yea im gonna make sure its safe for sure
I wanted to try to find a kind of wood he likes so he can chew it up...
I feel like he doesnt chew enough since he only chew one section of one toy

Not all chins chew voraciously, and not all chins chew all woods. Most chins are more likely to chew on the "toys" you get vs their shelves. I think they just smell and taste better to them than the pine does.

I have 6 chins. My two babies nibble here and there. My two boys LOVE their toy woods, but only the bark of them. My two older girls will chew just about anything, and there are a lot of woods they will chew to the nub. Just depends on the chin.

Yea my chinny only really chews two pieces of wood i think there pine but im not sure they came on my superpet kabob thing...
I got his different woods and he just doesnt seem to like them...
I need chew toys made book pagers and covers :p
But im pretty sure they shouldnt be chewing those
