when do they get their big boy cage?

I was just wondering what age do kits get a large cage with all the leadges? :hmm:

Mine get them once they are weaned....But some people on here might feel differently and think they should not get them till they are done growing, but I wouldn't say that qualifies much as "exercise". Because many people say they shouldn't have out of the cage time or wheels till they are done growing, so they don't waste too much energy because they need to save as much as they can for growing. Just my point of view.

I would just say as soon as they are big enough to not fit through the bars. I have never heard the "exercise" reason used except for not getting a wheel to early.

watch them at first, and put the ledges/shelves closer together. I've had several newly weaned kits, and it takes them a while to learn to gauge their jumps and build up the coordination.
