Lol my new chin Jake cracked me up today. I gave him a dust bath for the first time (just got him yesterday) and he rolls in for a while and then stands straight up and jumps about 3 feet in the air lol then runs over to me jumps on my lap then at full speed darts in his cage for about 5 seconds then back over and starts rolling again. XD why I don't know, but lol it was funny. Tell me something your chin did funny I love these type of stories. lol

Oh my so many stories! Kingston was darting around at playtime going from wall to wall, when he bounced full force nose first into my eye!

My girl Chinchi (the one that just passed away) used to come over to our dog and jump up on her back (she's not very tall) and go for a little ride. Of course my dog loved it, she loves chinchillas!

Let's see, Bambi dances and sings, plays dead on command and popcorns on command. Bamm Bamm "dies" by pulling himself, on his side, along the shelf and then becoming perfectly still. He will look up every 5 to 10 seconds to see if anyone is looking. Oh, and Wile E. serenades his women.

This is the only position my chins sleep in

I thought it is cute
if I'll take my boy fr a stroll in my hoodie when we come back he will jump on her tummy and pass out. Or if they are running around, they cuddle and run butt to butt it's weird
one time pandora was on the counter and he came chasing and jumped on her and they fell of the counter
was a little scary but they just kept jumping.
bah too many stories
okay one more weird thing
my male jumps 3 feet in the air wiggling his head and his whole body and falls into full speed sprint then jumps back in the air 3 seconds later wiggling and so on. is that normal? o.o

Tonight Tibbit did something funny with his new toy. It is a round piece of wood with something kind of like daisy flower petals cut out. It is hanging from the roof in his cage and he grabs the "petals" and sends the whole thing spinning. He really enjoys this! He sorta looks like a rapster DJ

I thought of something else she used to do. When I'd be vacuuming out the cage, she would come over to the hose so she could get vacuumed too. She didn't like it if I got her whiskers in there though.

Bryson does that too! Though, he likes to have his whiskers sucked up :)

Both my chins are little attention seeking clowns.

When Bryson wants attention, he will climb up the bars beside of his fleece cube, and do a black flop onto the top. He will just lay there looking like he's dead with his feet in the air until you talk to him or show him the slightest bit of interest.

My little Ande, poor little Ande. He's had a rough life and has never really experienced apple sticks, or jumping for the matter since he was in a dog crate his whole life. When I had him out for his first playtime in the bathroom, he would jump onto my knee next to the toilet, scoot his but back trying to calculate how to jump up there, then spring onto the toilet. When he figured it out, he popcorned a few times, jumped down, ran up my knee and did it again, and kept doing it about 10 times. Now that he is in a big cage with many levels and with Bryson, he's trying to figure out the whole leaping from ledge to ledge. There have been a few times where he when to jump to a shelf but misjudged his distance by 3 inches. It scared me at first, but he wasn't hurt. Guess I have a klutzy chin :hilarious: I'm pretty sure Bryson laughs at him.

Crash wants to meet the other chinchilla that lives in the mirror on our medicine cabinet. Every time he's out, he stands on the counter leaping as high into the air as he can facing the mirror and barking at his own reflection.

Cervantes, on the other hand, stands on the counter studying the door knob to figure out how to get it open and escape the bathroom. Thus far, pawing the slot between door and frame has yielded no results. :)

When my daughter was younger she would eat a McDonalds happy meal in the living room and watch her kid show. Our cat Violet loves french fries and would leave a little piece after she ate a few. I tried to make sure all was cleaned up as moms do. However my chin Jack used to find them once in a while at playtime. The first couple times I saw him sitting still eating "something" I would walk towards him and ask him what are you eating? :impatient: And would take the bit of fry away. Lets say Jack picked up Violets love of the fry. When he would find the little nugget of golden delicious fat he would then proceed to run as friggen fast as he could when I came to get it.
Before you all freak at the next one.......I AM ALWAYS THERE! My senior cat WB ( Walnut Brain for short ) likes to lay in the kitchen and hang out when my chin Little Dude is in there with us. I block off the kitchen and he gets to play. Little Dude likes to run up to WB and do things to him. Jump over the top of him, run into him, run up to him and run away. WB pretends he is the boss, however he just doesn't know what to do with Little Dude. And WB is the only cat that I trust in the chin room. He goes in there and rests on the floor and helps me in the morning feed, water ect. I think WB only helps out because he gets the most attention. He sits patiently and waits for his loving. And since he is our hairy son he gets the most attention. He just turned 13 and he's our hairy son. I found him and his siblings when they were dumped as pink newborns in a box. So he has no idea he's a cat.

My cat could have cared less about the chinchillas. He would sometimes come into the room when they were out and, of course, the chinchers came running over to him to have a sniff. He'd sniff back at them, turn his nose up, and walk away. But there was the one time he ventured inside their cage through the open door while they were out playing. My husband went over and shut him in there. He just sat there, looking at us with a bewildered look on his face. He didn't even act like he wanted to get out.

This thread got me to thinking about something. Not so much something my chin did, it was more something my dog did. I had the chinchillas out to play and I had actually set a baby gate up in the doorway since it could get pretty warm in the room with the door closed. It was time to go back, so I picked one up to take her back to their cage. I carried her off and not 2 seconds later I heard a loud crash. Somehow Gus (the male I still have now) had knocked the baby gate down. He must have bolted out of there pretty quickly because I didn't even have the chance to see where he went. I was freaking out because I couldn't find him. I was calling him, but he was no where to be found. So I said to my dog "Where's Gussy? Find Gussy!". She got really excited and took off sniffing. Finally she came to a stop in front of the dresser in my bedroom. I looked under there and a pair of pink eyes were staring back at me. Wow, he sure was quick to make it all the way down the hall and into that room! I was so glad my dog found him!

I have one wire ramp left in Lily's enclosure that I plan on taking out soon.
However, I just noticed that she seems to "enjoy" pushing her toys and chews down the ramp. Now I know you probably think that it's just an accident, but she does it EVERY time I set an object on that platform. Especially if it's a Lava Bite or apple stick.
It's pretty funny to watch her nudge them around until they fall and then popcorn around her home after they rattle down the ramp. :dance3:

I love these stories too, you can never get enough of them.

My Angel just took her first dust bath about a week ago. I was just staring into the cage and for the first time she just started to roll around, so I said, okay it's bath time [she's about 3 months], so I put the dust bath in her cage and she had no clue what to do...LOL, then mom jumped in and started to roll around doing her thing, so after Angel saw mommy, she just followed what she saw, was soo cute to watch. She still doesn't know what to do unless mommy goes in first.. Too funny.

As most chins do, mine love to run and bounce off of things--walls, furniture, etc. If I'm sitting low enough, they will sometimes run, jump, and bounce off of my face when I'm not paying attention! Their other favorite move is to bounce off of any cups that happen to be sitting on my desk, sending my drink flying across the room.

Silly rodents!

Tribble is really a typical chinchilla. She's sweet, active, and loving. She even uses her litter box. Well... Most the time. Other times, she seems to think I'm her litter box when I take her out for a run or to simply sit on my lap and hop on the couch. She'll come right over to me, turn around and stare at me for a few seconds... then relieve herself. Oh, my strange little girl...

If I do not have my glasses on Elroy nibbles my eyelashes. why I don't know he doesn't nibble noones but mine. crazy chinn.

We keep my chinnies treats on a book shelf by their cage and whenever we walk over there to get something they both run over and start chewing on the bars and sticking their noses through them to get us to give them a treat >.< its there little way of begging. when the hear they bag crinkle they go nuts. hehe

Ha! Mine do that with the drawer I keep all their stuff in under the cage. It's a good bribing tool too. If they won't let me pick them up for play time, well its open the drawer and start to open a mason jar that has their food. They hear the sound of the jar and come running. Stinkers! But I get them back by grabbing them.
