I was watching my chinchilla play with her chinnie buddy and she'll crawl up it, nibble the tail, run, and repeat.
Is this an aggressive behavior or is she trying to play with it?
My other girl just abuses her chinnie buddy.

Kinda sounds like what my boy does when he's getting ready to hump his buddy. Maybe she is dominance humping? It sounds playful and harmless though.

I haven't noticed any humping, it's more like she wants it to chase her. It has my other chin's smell on it (It was the older chin's buddy but she actually dislikes it...).
It's actually pretty cute .

Yeah, when Bubs is in a humpy mood he is usually pretty playful/chasey about it. He'll jump on the toy or climb up it, make some chattery noises, then run away and popcorn before approaching again. I only know it's pre-humping because he swishes his tail while he's doing it which is usually part of his "mating dance" lol.

For what it's worth, we were told he was a girl when we bought him, and it was this behavior that led us to sex him properly and determine that he was actually a little dude!

I'm a little paranoid too. I adopted a seven year old chin in belief it was a male and when he had to be taken to the vet he was a she! I checked her recently (as in tonight) and she is a she so I guess she's just being a silly Lilly!
