Mira's kits are 6 1/2 weeks old. They are eating and drinking on their own. They occasionally try to nurse, but Mira smacks them away. When the kits are eight weeks, do I just remove them and put them in their own cage? The boys will be weaned together, and housed together as well. I was going to keep them a week after weaning, before sending them to their new home. I want to make sure they are adjusting. Is it suggested to keep them longer? With the female kit, Marika, can she just remain with Mira? I plan on keeping Marika as a companion for Mira.

I wean at 7 weeks provided the kits are larger than 200 gms. I then keep them until they are 10-12 weeks of age to give them time to adjust to being on their own.

Thanks for the info. The males weight in at 192 and 195 grams. The female is 203 grams. I'm going to leave them with mom for another week to make sure they put some more weight on. I'm wondering if Mira is ready for them to be gone?
