I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!

I had made a thread before about an apartment that we looked at and how much we liked it, though it was a little small. Well, the landlord said our references were immaculate, but that he had decided to rent to someone else because he heard us discussing how we were going to fit everything in the apartment. He said he felt that the place was just too small for us to be completely comfortable but that if anything larger came available he would let us know. Well, he emailed me about a month ago and told me he had a large one bedroom coming available (possibly) and he would let me know if we were still interested.

IT CAME AVAILABLE! It's beautiful! All hardwood and tile, the exact historical neighborhood we wanted to be in, fully fenced back yard (it may be time to get a doggy!), washer & dryer included, very pet friendly, and electric, water and garbage included in the rent. While $795 would have been too high for us before we had chins, our electric bill was $360 last month, so the apartment may very well save us money in the long run. He knows about the chins and is very interested in meeting them. I also told him that we needed to keep the apartment at 70 degrees for the chins, and he also said that was fine (just wanted to give him a head's up on the electric bill).

ACK! I am sooooooooooo excited!!!!!!! We have lived in this crappy mobile home for way too long and I am so happy we were able to find exactly what we wanted even though the price is a little higher than we wanted to initially go. To get a landlord who is actually amazing is worth it. Also, he works in tile and floors and his partner is an electrician. Talk about the right people to rent from. :p

Without further ado, here are some pictures. These are the ones from the landlord, so they aren't the best but it gives you an idea. We will be moving in September 16th and I can't wait!

Living Room/Dining Room (he has already buffed out those spots on the floor, just hasn't updated his pictures)

The sunshine is actually an issue for us. Haha. We both work nights so we were working out the price for black curtains for the bedroom. :p I may just get all new blinds and make sure to get the ones that block out more light. Stupid night jobs.

And I don't see why it wouldn't be large enough. :D It's only 1 bedroom but about 1000 sq. ft, so even with only the one bedroom there is more than enough space. It's just my husband and I (and all of the animals).

I have the exact opposite problem. I need the light to wake me up and my husband closes the curtains at night and doesn't open them when he wakes up.

I hope you can find decent blinds that black out the light. That has to be so hard. I know that I am wired to wake up when the sun comes up. I'd be a crazy person if I had to work at night, I don't know how you do it! I guess you just get used to it, right?

It seems like the more space you get, the more space you will need. I went from a tiny apartment to a house and then a larger house and then I ended up with a few storage sheds to go along with the house. There is no way I could ever fit everything into a 500 square foot apartment ever again. You'll see...you will use up every square inch of space!

Wow the place looks great.

There's some good landlords out there but i don't blame the bad ones a bit. They probably had to deal with a lot of bad people. Right now my dad is having to clean up our rental house and fix the damage in every room. Doors, windows, walls, floors, etc. It's just horrible the condition some renter leave the houses they leave. We had to call animal control on this woman and get her dogs taken as well.

anyways, i'm rambling. lol Congrats on the apartment it's very pretty. Love it
