watery eye

my chinchilla has had a watery eye for a few days. we wiped it with a warm cloth for a few days, and it seems to be getting worse. tonight when we wiped it, we noticed something that looked like a little bit of puss. is there anything i can do at home to help this, or should i go see a vet? thanks!

Needs to be seen by a vet. Could be a corneal abrasion or it may be teeth related. All eye issues should be seen by a qualified exotics vet to rule out something serious.
