How much water should my chin be drinking during the course of a 24 hour period? My newest addition, who has been with me for a week doesn't seem to drink much..about an ounce per day. Is this about right?

Thanks:hmm:

The average daily water intake is 25ml to 50 ml which is 0.85 to 1.69 US fluid ounces. Since this chin is on the lower side of water intake, definitely keep an eye on it and make sure the bottle dispenses water as it should. After some time you will know what this chins 'normal' water intake is.

Speaking of water bottles.... I always keep a couple extra on hand because they do not last forever!!

How old is your new addition?
Are you using the same type of water bottle that the breeder used?

In my experience, it isn't uncommon for them to drink a little less than normal while they're adjusting to their new environment.

I use water bottles with the double ball system. If they are coming from somewhere with a suction water system, I like to split open a raisin and rub the outside edge of the water spout with it. They smell it and lick and associate the licking with getting water. That has always worked well for me.

Keep track that they are taking water in and pooping and peeing normally.

My new little guy is 3 years old. I have not switched water bottles. I have kept the one he had when he came to me. Pooping and peeing is quite normal. Well I should say, there is a LOT of poop. I am definitely going to pay close attention to his water intake. The poop hasn't changed over the last week and it definitely isn't loose.

Thanks!
