The last 2 days I've noticed water on MaveRick's shelf beneath his water bottle.
He has a Water Buddy, as do all the others, and I've never had an issue with them leaking.

I've looked the bottle over and see no holes in it, and the nozzle doesn't appear to be leaking when I look at it.
MaveRick isn't wet either.

Anyone else have an issue?

If it is the nozzle, would it just leak sometimes?

I have some that are like that. I am not sure if the chin is playing with it, the water is coming out to fast, etc since it doesn't happen all the time. It can be wet in the morning then dry in the afternoon for a day then it will be dry for weeks. I have 25 cages that all have water buddy's and not all the cages do this.

Most likely you need to dismantle it (not many know you can do this) and replace the o-ring. These are available at places that sell old Edstrom Water Buddies and parts. I know bunnyrabbit.com sells them if you google "Edstrom Water Buddy o-ring" they are $0.25. I would email them direct and ask if they can just be mailed in a letter envelope to reduce shipping and I would definitely buy a few as backups :)

It's not a lot of water each time but enough to notice it. I've checked the bottle itself, it is still working properly.

Thanks for the tip seachin.

Any ideas on where I can find a tutorial on how to dismantle it? I have extra Water Buddies but I'd rather fix this one and save those in case I absolutely need them.

It's actually just taking a monkey wrench to the brass base and turning...thinking more about it....may just need to be cleaned....sometimes stuff gets stuck in there...

No, as I said, you need to turn and dismantle the nozzle. There are a few parts in there that could be clogged. My guess is maybe a bit of hay or something stuck on the o-ring. Or possibly the diaphragm. By dismantling it you can see if it's just dirty or if something needs to be replaced. Perhaps you know someone mechanically inclined who can unscrew it for you?

Great, keep us posted. If the Edstrom bottle isn't too old, it's probably just something stuck that needs to be cleaned when dismantled. If the o-ring is cracked or broken, then you obviously need to replace it. As a side note, do NOT oil anything in there. :)
