Walmart Pumice Stone

Can I give chinchillas the pumice stones found at Walmart? I know they might be treated with weird stuff, but would it be OK if I nuked it in a hot water/vinegar bath?

What is the pumice stone like? Is it the type of pumice used to clean toilets? If so, don't use it.

It's the type to scrape nasty dead skin off your feet or something...

Hmmmmm....I don't know if that would be safe or not. It's hard to say if they spray it or otherwise treat it with something that will prevent mold or mildew or something like that. IT would be best to stay away from it...unless someone else knows more about it!

Alright, thanks! I was thinking to nuke it in boiling water and vinegar... and maybe bake it for a while... But then, I don't know how resistant those chemicals are...

There are people on the forum that sells pumice go to chins supplies for sale.

i don't trust half of walmart food products for humans, so i would never get something for my chin there personally.

Doing my nails is a hobby and I would never trust the pumice for beauty supplies. Pumice is porous and I don't think you could clean them. The pumice stones I give to my chinchillas is all purchased from suppliers here. It really is worth the extra money to make sure my guys are safe.
