Hey guys!
I finally got my FN142 today! I'm so happy!! It's enormous, taller than I am haha. I can't wait to move my chin in, but first I need to fill it up.

I think I've decided to start by trying out fleece liners because they're cheaper. I think I'm going to make them myself (I found the tutorial on here.)

One thing I'm still debating is whether to make it two whole levels or take the middle layer out and just keep it open. I'm a little worried about falls from the top or that the space will be overwhelming for my single chin. What do you guys think I should do about that?

Here's what I already have:
Three medium-sized wooden leap ledges
Chinchiller
Litter pan
Hammock
Fleece tube

Wishlist:
Wooden hay holder from chincessories
Wheel (maybe from chincessories because I can't afford a chin spin right now)
More shelves (can make these myself)
Fleece liners (going to make these myself)

Anything you guys think I'm missing? Also expect to see a lot of me in the Housing & Supplies section as I'm remodeling :p

Also, I'd like to point out how surprised I was that this cage was taller than me!

I am so jealous!!

Does your chinnie like hammocks? Because they are definitely great!

Also, do you have a hidey hut?

I don't have a hidey hut. My chin usually sleeps in either her fleece tube or her hammock. I was thinking about having my fiance make one, cause he's super handy :))

I am also a fan of hammocks. Thinking about getting a couple of corner ones

Make sure you try out something with fleece that is small before investing to much. Some chins have been known to tear fleece up into pretty shreddies.

Cheecher's our first chin doesn't sleep in her hammock; however, she will sit on her super ledge, stretch out and rest her head and front paws in the hammock. Kind of amusing watching her do it.

Imagine if you had the 143 add-on on top? I'm with Tara, add lot's of hanging toys!

I know! I can't fathom what I'd do with that much space. My spoiled little chin is going to have tonnnns of room. Maybe I'll find her a friend one day! :))

It is shocking when you first build it, how HUGE they are!! But then comes the exciting part of filling it up, lol.
When I got my first FN, I took the middle out, because I liked the idea of having one huge open cage. BUT then when I got Evie for a cagemate to Tami, she was little (and a danger to herself) so I put the middle back in. Lo and behold, you can fit MORE stuff into the Ferret Nation when you have two whole floors!!
