My girlfriend and I are looking for our first Chin. I need recommendation for quality breeder in/around Houston, TX area. I am open to 2-4 hours driving distance to see and pick up the Chin personally.
I want a baby/young Chin in order to establish a close relationship. Since we had no experience of taking care of new born chin, what age would be suitable for us?

You couldn't have a newborn chin anyway. They don't leave their mom's until between 6-8 weeks, and if it's from a hobbyist they won't let their chins go until they are sure that they are eating and drinking well, which is usually 10 weeks.

Don't rule out an older chin. You can bond with an older chin as easily, and sometimes easier, than you can with a younger chin. Might I suggest rather than looking for a chin by age, that you look for a chin by who appeals to you when you go to visit a breeder? If you limit yourself to a certain age or a certain color, you could be missing out on THE chin for you.

You are right. I need to visit the breeder to see the chins first. I have no preference on gender or color.
Does any one know any quality breeder in/around Houston, TX area?

I don't know of anyone left in Houston. There used to be quite a few.

I'm in Lafayette, LA and you are welcome to come see my guys. I have a few available. Ages range 12 weeks to a little over a year. :))
