UTI?

One of my chins has been peeing a little during playtime for a while now. But recently Ive noticed the ledges in his cage are getting dirty and stained extremely fast. I suspect that he he might now also be peeing on his ledges. Im now wondering if he might have a UTI, but i dont know the symptoms. When i do searches, all i see are posts about people whose chin is acting very abnormally or peeing blood, neither of which apply to this case. Is there a chance he has a UTI, or am I just being paranoid?

First thing you need to do is a hair ring check. If you do a search on hair ring you will find instructions on how to do it. Please do a hair ring check ASAP as hair rings can cause a variety of problems including what you may be observing. Hair rings are painful and can cause serious damage.

Here is my video of the hair ring check-if no hair rings are present I would get this chin to a vet-UTI symptoms can also be bladder stone symptoms, both are not something you self treat and both can be fatal if left untreated.

Thanks all. I did the hair ring check (just to be clear, I do these periodically, although I was glad to know that I should do one in this instance) and he came up clear. Also, he didn't pee during play time last night, so I think i might have overreacted, but I will be monitoring him closely and will also call our vet to see if he's in during the weekend despite the holidays. Anything I should be careful to watch for this evening?

Glad to hear you have been doing hair ring checks. As you probably know, watch to be sure he is eating and drinking normally. Watch for signs he is straining to pee or blood in his urine.
