Well, not even a month has passed since Chong first entered our home. He was downright vicious! Today, he returned home to my sister and I am sorry to see him leave! The transformation was amazing. He went from a teeth chattering, biting, mean chinchilla to a cuddly sweet little fur ball! It took a lot of patience and consistency, but Chong is the chinchilla I knew he could be. I am going to miss having him around! Luckily, he doesn't live far, so I will still have the chance to visit with him and check on his progress. I have given strict instructions on his upkeep, so we will see if his bad behavior returns. If it does, we definitely know it is environment!!! I made my sister take him out of his cage in front of me and she was shocked at the change in him. No teeth chattering, no standing on hind legs, no lunging at her with teeth showing.... I showed her where he likes to be rubbed and she has moved his cage to a quiet place in the house where no other animals have access. Lets see how it goes!

My new nickname from my family is now "The Chinchilla Whisperer" - I find that to be hilarious!!!!

Congratulations chin whisperer =) I did behavioral rehab at petco for surrendered small animals, I was always heart broken to see the little guys leave.
