So i am looking into a new bath house for my girls and I do not like the plastic ones. Colors may vary and with my luck I would get pink and I HATE pink, and asthetics, and blah blah blah. So I was wondering if people would post pics of their bath houses and where they got them. Please!!!

I like the unusual, so the stranger the better! I found a glazed ceramic pot that looks like a frog with an open mouth, its round and almost closed offf... Chins jumping in and out of a frog... I like it.

I have heard that those gallon pickle jars work nicely. I use a ceramic "Chinchilla Bath" by super pet that I bought at Petland (the large one, not the tiny one that only a baby would fit in). It looks neat and it is chew proof, but I don't think they have as much room to dust in it as others. I also have the plastic house looking one from PetSmart.

I attached a picture of the ceramic one I use with my chin in it so you can see the size.

I use the gallon pickle jars - set towards the corner so they don't roll all over!

I use the glass candy container things that come with a metal lid. Or I also use a huge glass bowl for Mei and Kona since they can't share nicely.

I've found that those ceramic dust bath houses that are shaped like a chin aren't large enough for them to roll properly. They work great for young chins, but once they grow up they can hardly fit in them.

I was thinking of getting Trixie a new bath house..ceramic or glass--as well. Just wondering if the transition to the new bath center would confuse her? What are the chances of her not wanting to use the new one? She loves the one she has just fine..enjoys sitting on top some times. I am just getting tired of looking at it.

Haha in the post you said u hated pink, well guess what color i got, and im a guy :( But other people alrdy said this but large candy jars or pickle jars seem to work for people

You can get the large glass containers with lid in walmart for under $20 I believe

I got a large vase from Marshalls for $10 that tapers to a smaller opening, less dust gets out when they roll due to the small opening

You can also buy a giant jar of pickles at Costco for $6 (I think) and those work really well as dust baths too.

Perhaps, I worded my original post poorly. I am simply looking for fun, playful, and original ideas for a dust bath house or even bizarre ideas. I am not looking for any kind of commercial chinchilla dust bath house as I am fairly sure if it was made specifically for chinchillas it was made by some one who never met them. (example: Charlie chinchilla food, the death ball, the wheel(not chin spin),ect...)

I like the candy jar idea as many of them have fun designs like a cookie monster where you have to reach in the mouth. The idea of looking into some creatures mouth and seeings a happily bathing chin just make me giggle. I've come into some money and would like to spoil the girls for a while, well more then usual anyway.

Once she finds out there is dust inside what ever you get her she will have no problam bathing in it. I've changed dust bath containers alot and they never seem to care. Its mostly me and what I have at the time or want to see them bathing in. I've even used my own cupped hands. If you've never done it try it, it was soo cute and hilarious I nearly exploded.

I do. I hate the color with wanten abondon and I don't really know why. I have a number of guy friends who like pink... I always have the strange urge to punch them when they where it.

Mine is a 1 gallon glass candy jar that comes with a lid, it looks like a fish bowl almost. My boys love it and it was $8 at Wal-mart.
