Two Chinnies from NJ

Hey everyone

My name is Shelby and I live in Northern New Jersey. I used to be on Chins and Quills but I am not sure where the site went....

Anyway I saw this so I had to join!

I am the proud owner of 2 chins.
A standard grey male named Cholo and a (I think he is Hetro) Beige male named Chalupa ^_^

Cholo will be 2 next month and Chalupa is 8months. I just picked up Chalupa (Chewie) today, so I am trying to introduce them. Any help and input with that would be great! Right now I have Cholo in the cage and Chewie next to him in another cage, they have been checking each other out for now. Chewie has been barking at him, I am thinking it is because he is in a new place. Who knows!

I will update with pics and such, ok this is a really long post!

Hi and welcome! CnQ no longer exists, and you found the right forum! A lot of us are here from CnQ. Can't wait to meet your pair. I only have one chin, and can't give you any help with intros, but I have heard on many occasion that when you bring in a new chinnie, you're supposed to quarantine him for a month in a different room. Others here can offer more help. Hopefully the two of them will get along and we're glad you found us

For future reference, it's always good to do a 30 day quarantine when bringing in a new chin, in a separate cage in a separate room. It's for the safety of both animals. Most likely they will be fine, but just in case you get caught up in a chin frenzy and want to bring more home, it's a good habit to observe.
