Two baby Chinchillas

My chinchilla had two kits this morning----------one has it's eyes wide open-----the other has it's eyes closed----should I be concerned? Both kits seem to be about the same size and equally energetic.

You should get the one kit's eyes open as soon as you can. Their little brains start developing right away and they need to see as soon as possible.

Did you weigh the kits?

Congrats on the new babies. Are these your first chin babies?

Check out the thread on breeding and babies, there is good advice there on how to get the kits eyes open asap. It's important to get them open so that nothing gets stuck on the wrong side of their eyelid and causes an infection.

And congrats on the babies Were they intentional (eg. are you a new breeder?) or were they 'oops' babies?
