Can chins travel? I have a 12 hour drive one way for Christmas. Will it stress him to much? I have a very loving friend that can come take care of him and play with him if needed. I will be gone 5 days total. Not leaving until the 23rd. Heading from Arizona to Odessa, Texas. Not extreme temp difference.

It would be best to leave him home if you can. However, if you need help, you can drop him off here on your way to Texas and I could take care of him for you for a few days. I'm sort of on the way. I know you have a friend, who can care for him, but I always have room for chins to stay with me for a bit. :)

My first chin i took in was stressed beyond beleife from the 2h ride when my brother had to move back to my area. But he was in a stressfull envirnment then too. If you can leave him at his house with someone that can give him proper care, i would lean towards that.

oooo i'll keep you in mind next year when we go to WI :)

Just wanted to mention that if your friend has not played with your chinchilla before and does not know the proper way to handle him, I would just have him keep the chin in the cage. It would be better for the chin to miss play time than to have your friend running around the house trying to catch the chin.
