I may be able to find most of this info if I searched for a while, but I thought I might ask to ensure all the needed info is in one place. I will need to travel to pick up my two chins and wanted to ensure the best travel conditions. I was wondering if this cage http://bassequipment.com/Cages/Carrying+Cages+Etc/default.aspx (the 10" 18" x 10") would be large enough for two? I intend to make a fleece liner, provide hay and pellets as well. I have read that leaving out the water bottle would be okay for a few hours of travel (likely 1-2.5 hours in the car), just wanted to be sure that would be the safest way to travel.

if the two chins are already bonded and living together, then having them travel in the same carrier is fine. you want the carrier large enough for them to be comfortable, but not big enough that they get thrown around if there is sudden starts/stops or an accident. putting the seatbelt around the carrier in a way that the chins can't get to it to chew it is a good idea, to keep everything secure.

no water bottle on the carrier while you are driving. this just makes the water bottle leak all over your chins. they'll be fine without water for that length of trip. a handful of hay or a few sticks to chew is all they need. most chins fall asleep while traveling anyway.

Okay, I will be a new owner and I am just not sure what size would be comfortable for two. The breeder said I could easily keep them in one cage since I intend to house them together she will ensure they get along before I pick them up. (note: I will have a CN 162, so I can separate them if I need to). I just want to ensure comfortable and safe travel =)

I like the Ryerson carriers the best, they are seperate cubbyholes for each chin. I think they probably could get hurt a lot less in those, not being able to fall on top of each other and such.
A couple of hours in the car is nothing, they'll do fine. Just be sure not to put the carrier on the floorboard, it can overheat quickly down there.

If you use a spring loaded ball type water bottle, they won't leak. I use them and there has never been a issue. I have a food bowl, water bottle and chew toy in my carriers, they are used every day. I have the ones from Chins-to-go.

The Chins to Go carriers are awesome. I have 2 of them here. They are roomy, hold 2 chins easily, and are mostly wire so they have plenty of ventilation. I wish they would put up a website though, that's the big downside for me.

I also like the carrier you mentioned and similar ones sold on chinchillas.com. The issue with those though is that you can't open each individual door and that's annoying. You have to open the entire top.

I have Ryerson's carriers and have used them for years, but the doors have a bad habit of springing open, especially the more you use them. Just something to be aware of.

How do you contact chins to go if the don't have a website? Are they at the shows?

One of my chins is a pro at escaping my Ryerson carrier. I've had luck with weaving a water bottle spring through her door, and clipping it to the doors on either side of her.

Thanks for the added info, I ended up emailing Chins to Go to get a price quote, etc. I will see what they have to say before I make my decision and purchase =)
