Well that came as a very sudden shock today. I was cleaning and packing stuff up to prepare to move from NJ to PA when i noticed the temp on the thermometer on the chins cage read 77.

I was not to happy about that. I was even less happy when i checked the weather forecast and noticed that tomorrow would be just about as hot as today, and two days form now would be even hotter.

And if that is not bad enough... all four of my air conditioners are already up in PA and i have no access to them. (Not to long ago there was a ton of snow on the ground.) That means i would have to buy another one. Of course with my dad dieing, my preparing to move, and being on disability, thats hard enough on its own. But if i buy one then i probably cant afford my bills until i move. This was just getting better and better. (Of course i would go for the ac and screw the bills to save the chins if i had too.)

Aside from that ive been driving around this girl i used to know back in high school. Nearly a decade since i so much as talked to her. Meet up in January and now ive been driving her around until she gets her license back, or i move. Cant say i wanted to. Waking up earlier then i should (with my medical problems something like that is drastic.) Slowing down my packing and everything else. But shes working and putting herself through school (which is where most of the rides are too). So im willing to help for a good cause like that.

She evened the score today tho. I took her home and was then prepared to go out looking for an AC. Did i mention she has chins too? :p
She mentioned having an extra and would ask her dad (whom i have never met) if i could borrow it. I figured there wasn't a chance in **** that this guy would lend something like that to a guy he has never met before. But he quickly agreed to it. And shocked me in the process. That saved me so many potential problems. :hug2:

Of course i would have to put that AC in my small bedroom, which was a challenge in itself. But my chins are in the main room (basically.) So i had to get help to move some furniture. Had to move enough to clear room in the living room. Move stuff outa my room into the living room. Move chins into my room. Move stuff in the living room over to where the chins used to be. Move everything in living room back where it was. And a TTTOOONNN of clean up after that. - And all this had to be done while making sure that my males cant see my females because of medical problems one of them has. (He gets too worked up seeing his girl and not being able to get to her. He starts having seizures on top of his heart murmur problem.)

So its been a fun day!!

Trying to squeeze there cages into my room. I have to keep the girls cage (left) at an angle to keep it as covered as i could to make sure the boys cant see them.

And now the cage is blocking my light switch :/

Can you move the cage down a bit to unblock the light switch or move it forward enough to get to the switch?

If not, I suggest opening the cage door and reaching through the bars to turn the light off and on. Or just a lamp. :D

Glad everything worked out though and you were able to get an air conditioner.

Fourtionatly i can still reach the switch. You'll notice next to the light switch the thermostat dial, i had to have the cage out enough so they wouldn't chew on that. So theirs enough room to get to it. But the rooms door is a millimeter away from hitting the cage when you open it, so it certainly cant come out any further.

all five chins have been on edge since being moved into my room. (Makes me wonder how they will do when i move over to PA.)

Houdini even went back to his old hiding place, which i haven't seen him use in a long long time.

i don't know about fine... a little bazaar most definitely so far lol

Since my oh so personable Chico had been taken to the vet the day before to get a urine sample, and then having his cage moved the next day, he has been hiding in his hut and avoiding me at all cost. (but so have the rest of them pretty much...)

But this one caught me a bit off guard. Chico's son, Houdini, who is in the same cage as him, is normally anti social. Once in a while when he is fully awake he might come crawl out on my arm but its still not that often. And when he is tired, forget it. Don't try bothering him. He hates being messed with or looked at when hes sleeping or tired.

I vaguely remember this part, but i kept waking up and every time i did he was going full throttle on that wheel. To the point where i was worried he was over doing it and got up to check on him. When i opened the door he came over let me pet him then hoped out into my arms and let me hold him a while. And there was no hesitation like usual. But being the middle of the night and a new environment i could write that off as adjusting.

Then i woke up again around 11am. They start going to sleep very early, 5ish. So they NEVER want to be bothered at that time. None of em' But there was Houdini bouncing off the walls. I went over again, and sure enough he hopped right into my arms, let me pet him. I even walked around with him a little bit... It was absolutely bazaar. A complete 180 of his personality.

Then when i woke up today, both Chico and Houdini were awake. And both came over for a pet and hopped out into my arms. Chico only stayed for a short time then ran back to his hut, but still. Im not used to this behavior from Houdini.

All three girls still avoid me like the plague tho... lol

Houdini has been hitting that wheel for the last three nights like he is training for the Olympics. Hard step, sprinting. All night long. And it starts the moment i try to go to sleep...

If im awake he doesn't. If im doing something he doesn't. If im laying in bed he does nothing. But the moment i decide its time to sleep, he sprints to work. :pillowfight:

Combined with the other four chins... IF i get to sleep im lucky for it to last 30 min before im woken back up by them.

Houdini was going so hard and long at that wheel that i was worried he was over doing himself. Combined with my frustration, i got up at 3am got some tools and took the wheel out. Not that that helped my sleep any. By 5am i said to **** with it and just got up /grin
