Ok, so when I got my chinchillas, they included a flying saucer wheel, and a baggie of U-bolts..but no advice or instructions to set it up to the cage..

Any help? I have no clue of how to attach it to the cage!!

I have a scan of what I got with my saucer,..it might help you organize the stuff.

If you bring the wheel to a hardware store, someone can help find bolts that will secure it safely to your cage! I have this wheel and LOVE it!:)

The bolts & all supplies are there... just no directions..

Jen, the scan isn't showing up for me... That would be VERY helpful though! I have looked online & not found anything!

I did find a video of chins using one on youtube...it's SO cool! I can not wait to get it set up. It was on my bed when I had them out & the were climbing on it! all excited to see THIER stuff in a new home!

Like, if someone has one, if they could just take a pic of the back of the cage (where it i attached) I think I could figure it out??

I found that adding more u-bolts helped to secure the Saucer. Also, adding a block of chin-safe wood to the base of the arm really helps to cut down on vibration. I didn't use a block of wood b/c I installed the Saucer on a wooden shelf.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I got the saucer set up today & they are VERY happy to have the exercise wheel. Silly Cinnamon even sleeps on it!

I think they like to sleep on it b/c it's cool. My guys don't sleep on the Saucer but they quite often do sleep underneath it. I'm surprised your chins have figured it out so soon, my guys took a while before they could use it properly; it was a learning process.

The saucer came with them, so they were used to it! :)

Charlie likes to perch on the "base" and sleep..while cinnamon sleeps on the saucer...

They love it, but OMG, it REALLY makes sleeping in the same room as them difficult! I had to turn on my radio last night for distraction sound, which luna began to bark at... it was an interesting night, to say the least! LOL

Yeah, my boys have lost their saucer privileges until I they are no longer in my room because it's so loud...

Did you try putting a block of wood underneath the support? At least in our FN, it made a huge difference.

I showed my father the picture & he said he would make something for me..just have to go pick up a few 2 X 4's..

I also plan for him to build me some toys for them... he is good at that stuff & disabled (due to a car accident) so this can give him a project to keep him busy! my macaw also needs new toys to shred, so might as well do it for all of them at once!
