My chinchilla, Chinchi had an accident the other night and had something heavy drop on her tail. She seems to be okay (she's eating, begging for treats and bounds all over her cage) but if we try to get near her tail she barks. Her tail has lost some fur and looks weird. Should I be concerned and need to take her to a vet? My bf and and I haven't really had a chance to hold her (she's wicked fast). Anyone have the same thing happen to their chin? Will she lose her tail? Thank you!

If her tail looks weird, then yes I would get it checked. It's possible to break a tail and it may be set crookedly. There's probably not a ton they can do for it but wrap it, but if she's barking she's in pain and may need some light pain meds until it gets a bit better.

She shouldn't lose her tail unless she loses the blood flow to the end of the tail. A vet would be able to determine if that's the case.
