Hey there,

I have been in Ireland for the lambing season and then had to stay on another couple of days. Mum and Dad came back. Auntie Bridie died. Mum and brother Ruari were to come back to see her in her last time left with us. She died before they had their plans made.

I was already over for the lambing and wanted to go to see her and say my final goodbye. I didn't make it in time. Things were meant to work out like that. Bridie was a lovely woman - she looked after me when I was smaller and I have very clear memories of her. She drove me home when it came to going to Grandas funeral because I was sick. (Typical...my way of being shocked.) She was in great form and seemed to be in great health ewven then...Just in August. Then went downhill and went nowhere when she found out she had the liver cancer in December. Everyone says she would have lasted longer if they hadn't have told her. The hospital wouldnt let her out if they didnt tell her. Sad, I don't think its nomrally that way...Granda didnt know.

ANYWAY on to the GOOD news.

:tease:

I heard Saturday Morning that there was a 'Sponsored Marie Curie Swimathon' on in swimming pools all over to help raise funds for to care for terminally ill cancer patients.

I am not a swimmer yet manage to swim 100lengths (Option of 60/100/200 lengths or around about that.) of the 25metre pool. The other man in my lane swam the same and he was so happy. I guess Granda, Jane, Bridie and Packie (All family members who died from cancer) drove me on. I know thats basically all I was thinking about during it. Took a good few lengths to get my breathing settled!

100 lengths = 2.5 km = 1.55 miles

I got a medal and my picture in the paper too :) I was the youngest individual.

The man on the phone knows of me, knows my name for sure because of dad (small town) and still called me MARY which I think in MY mind was a sign from Granda for some reason. He always called me 'Mary' in stead of 'Mae'.

Afterwards lastnight we got back in Spain and where chatting about it and I looked at my phone to see the time just as we were chatting about it and....- Grandas picture was on the screen...Odd, eh? There is only one of him on my phone and i definitely wasnt looking at it.

Enough for you guys to read? I had to tell.......Eventful 2wks and thats only 1/3 of it.

Thanks for reading. Hugs to all who has and who ARE currently dealing with this. I feel for you all.
