I bought a huge bag of sweet pdz last month since I saw it at the feed shop, and I was really excited to try it out because chin dust makes me sneeze quite a bit. I also figured it would be the cheaper, better smelling alternative. Well I used it for the first time last night and I STILL feel like I can't get a full breath of air. I had an asthma attack and have been coughing nonstop since I opened the bag. I had no idea it was going to be so harsh! Maybe if the chin room wasn't so small and I didn't have to keep the door shut I could tolerate it, but it certainly seems like this stuff is bad for the lungs and shouldn't be used in a poorly ventilated area. I had read warnings about this but just couldn't imagine it would be worse than the dust is for me. Guess I had to see for myself!

Wow you have the opposite effect happen to you than I did with PDZ. PDZ worked great for me because I didn't sneeze, cough, or have plugged nose and a dusty room using it, but the chins did not look good. I stopped using it and just suffer with the ill effects the dust causes me because it makes them look great!

Yeah I've seen it on a few chin websites and so looked into it further, and when I realized I could get it for such a deal I thought it'd be a great alternative to dust. Now I have 50 lbs of this stuff that I can't use! I'm not sure I could sell it because I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Laurie--interesting. Maybe I'm just allergic to the stuff itself? Because dust is hard for me as well, but nothing like this!

you could sell it to a horse barn easy enough, just do some calling around. i used to use a Canadian equivalent of the stuff in my horse's stall back in the day and loved the job it did.

Rainey I bought it for the same reason--pretty darn cheap and very accessible for me. I really loved it because I didn't sneeze or cough but the poor chins just didn't benefit from it.

It usually comes in 40lb bags. The dust is just as bad as blue cloud for coughing, but blue cloud makes my throat swell up. I have no known allergies, and that stuff is harsh. Regardless of the type I use a mask and leave the room.

I use the granular PDZ. Chins with strong, thick stand up fur do good with it, but you can tell who has weak fur because they look like crap using it. The weaker and thinner the fur, the worse they look.

However, it does work as dust should and keeps everyone unmatted, just not show ready. It neutralizes the ammonia smell in the barn as well.

You can take it back if you don't like it.
