I just called my pet store to see if they carried mazuri and she said no but they carried sunaturals and that it was a high quality feed. I looked it up on the internet and to me it looks like it has little pieces of other stuff in it. So I would take it she didn't really know. But just to make sure sunaturals isn't one of the brands recommended, is it? Cause I have heard of one on here that was Sunseed or something like that.

SunNaturals is not a high quality feed. Unfortunately most pet store employees have no idea what is healthy and what isn't. They just know what sells the best.

The pet store is crazy overpriced for Mazuri anyway. I would recommend ordering it from someone online. It's usually anywhere from $1.25-$1.50 a lb, unlike the $4.50-$5.00 a lb that the pet stores charge. Even with shipping it ends up being cheaper (and usually fresher).

Sunaturals is not good. Also keep in mind that a chin's diet should be kept consistent; not switched unless necessary.

Hey look! Essentia sells fresh Mazuri for only $1.10/pound! You can get a flat rate box full. Best of all you don't even have to leave your house.

Interesting question.

I requested a pet store that sells chins to get mazuri. The manager came over saying how she was this experienced chin breeder and she researched foods, compared ingredients and decided this brand was the best.

I'd never heard of it but was like, no thanks. Mine don't eat that brand.

They sold it in bulk to their customers.

Honestly you would be best to stick to either Mauzri, Tradition, or Oxbow, Oxbow is pretty easy to find and the rest you can get from most breeders and suppliers, and they are so much fresher too!

I bought my Mazuri in a 25 lb bag from a feed store. It cost me $15 and some change. It can be a bit much just for one chin, so you could split it with someone? See if you have any farm cooperatives or feed stores around your area. Members on the board also sell it (Essentia and Camphor Chins). You can't rely on the pet stores to carry anything of quality for chins. I've learned that.
