Suddenly more friendly?

So, Flynn has always been a little fiesty. Sometimes nipping at me when I stick my hand into his tube, but will enjoy the scritches once their given, he'll run away when I move to the cage, or things like that, not always so friendly.

On tuesday I decided to change around the ledges, hammocks, and tubes around so that they could have something new, so it's not so boring for them. Suddenly, Flynn's personality changed. He'll come meet me at the gate, sit on the ledge by the gate and willingly let me pet him, sometimes he'll place his little hands on mine.

Is this common?

It sounds like, for whatever reason, the changes you made to the cage, made him feel more safe and secure. When they're not feeling vulnerable and nervous, the curious and social side comes out. Plus, after your repeated attempts to pet him, he's learning that a hand coming at him means something good is going to happen so he can enjoy instead of being scared. You're earning major trust!
