I was talking to/scritching my chinchilla Milo today while I had a sucker in my mouth. It was almost gone, around the size of a quarter. I didn't know it, but the end of the stick was in his cage a little. He grabbed it and before I could react had it in his cage. He was just chewing on it but then dropped it and the sucker stuck to his fur by his right arm/side. He totally freaked out, ran around the cage and during this it fell off. I caught him and assessed damage. Luckily, the sucker didn't get too attached to his fur. It didn't tear out too much fur, but there were some clumps of fur sticking together from the sucker, so I used our flea comb to gently get them out. This resulted in some more fur loss. Now it doesn't really look like a bald spot, and it isn't too noticeable unless you compare it to the other side. He seems to be recovering from the shock and everything, but I am worried that his fur won't grow back. Should it be okay? I don't want him to have a less furred part for the rest of his life. I'll never ever have a sucker by him again...

It will grow back, don't worry :)

I've heard that younger chinchilla's grow their fur back faster then older ones, but still might take a couple weeks to be back to normal.

Thank you for the reassurance. He's only six months old so hopefully it'll be a quick heal.
