So my new little guy (7 weeks old) is pretty lovey, he has no problem being held and he loves scritches. But recently (like a few days ago) he started doing this new thing, that now not only does he do, but my older chin has started doing it too.

If I go up to him eye level so my face it right near him and make a very high pitched (but very soft) sound. (I am sitting her trying to explain the noise i make but i cant lol!) Like smacking your lips together but high pitched and so soft you could barely hear it. I started doing it a few days after I got him because whenever I would make the sound he would come up to me.

So anyways recently he has started making little sounds back to me, he literally sounds like a squeaky toy. But he does it very very soft, and he will usually inch closer to me when he does it.

Wilbur my older chin has started to do it on occasion as well, but Templeton will literally do it every time I make that noise.

Oh I should also add that I hear him make a very similar noise to my older chin when they are face to face and when they are grooming each other. They dont make it as much to each other though, and when they do make it to each other it is a little bit louder, but still not very loud. (like if I was watching TV I most likely wouldnt hear it)

Any ideas on what they are "saying" to me?

Oh! I should also add that I listened to all of the chin sounds in the sound file and none of them sounded close to what they are doing, I have tried to get a video of it but the sound it just too soft, and they will usually only do it to me when I am making my own sound to them lol.

Is it a fast soft squeak type thing? My one chin does it every time he is happy (during play time, me giving him nuzzles, etc.).

yeah its kind of fast, it seems like a happy squeak but what do I know lol!

I thought I should ask rather than just assume, I would hate to be doing something that made them mad lol

yah I think its probably a happy sound especially if they are inching closer to you and not acting mad or mean..... they just like to be close to you... which is great!

I make kissing sounds to my chins and they react the same way. I have one girlk that talks that way, non stop, when she has kits.
