I'm not planning on breeding or anything....but I was wondering if 2 standard gray chinchillas could have a totally different colored kit? I know this is a strange question considering I'm not breeding...but I was just curious

Yes, if the two greys both carried the same gene for another color.

yeaup they can....they can both have a recessive gene...for example they can be violet carriers and then their baby *can* be a violet =D
