(Sort of) New here :)

Hi, all!

I was a member on Chin-n-Quills back in the day; I didn't post much, but I did a lot of reading. I thought I had registered here when the site moved, but when I tried to log on to post a message, I found out I wasn't a member, so here I am!

I have one chinchilla named Dezzy; I'm not sure how old she is. I think she's seven or eight years old; I got her from my sister who bought her from a pet store. I've had Dezzy for four and a half to five years now, and I absolutely adore her.

She got really sick in the fall of 2010 and that's when I found out she has malo; she had to have a few teeth filings and she was in pretty rough shape for awhile, but she is doing really well right now. I treasure every day! She's a hoot. She's a little naughty a quite a bit spunky, so she keeps me on my toes!

Thanks for the kind welcomes! It's really interesting to me that you say you can see her personality in the pictures. Every time I've introduced her to a chinchilla-virgin friend, the very first thing they say when they see her is "Wow! She has a personality!" These people didn't know what to expect--they thought she'd just sit there like a bump on the log or something, but she came right down to the door and cocked her head to the side as she gave them a look over.

Interesting side note, she LOVES men with beards! She's constantly standing on her tip-toes so she can groom their faces (which the guys play along with very nicely).

I just read your post about Dezzy's malo journey on another thread. I think she is quite lucky to have found you! Doesn't look like she's hurtin for toys, either.
