Some people just really make your life so much better. This is a difficult time for me--in a few weeks it will be the one year anniversary of my beautiful sister Lisa's death to breast cancer. While I have been moving on with the grieving process these days I cry a lot and think of her a lot and miss her. But I have some really wonderful friends (Sandilicious, you know who you are) who make me laugh and send funny messages to me, and tell me they are going to kick my butt when I make fun of their "favorite" thing.

I have some awesome friends on this forum who tell me I'm cool, who tell me I'm sweet. I have some awesome friends here who are there for me whenever I need them and let me be whoever I really am.

I feel blessed to have these people in my life--to share my life with them, to share in the joy of their life.

Family isn't just about the sharing of blood bonds and blood ties--family is where you find love, where you're able to give love.

This forum has given me such a wonderfully unique family--I honestly don't think I would be able to get through the tough days without my many CnH friends.

Our loved ones are always with us, even if we can't see or hear them. Grieving is a good and healthy thing (in moderation, but then again that's the same with everything!), Laurie, and don't restrain your grief because you think it's bad. It helps the "acceptance" process.

You can come to me for anything, when we grieve we need our loved ones around us to remind us of the great things we still have. laurie, i definitely understand the family feel to CnH. i love this place, and people like you have always made me feel welcome. we talk about so so much and i love it!

during these next few weeks, know that you will always have Lisa in your heart. and her story has touched our hearts as well. she will never be forgotten.

:hug2: Laurie, I, too, felt like I knew Lisa from your stories. She was a remarkable woman and both lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful sister as you!!!

Don't worry about continuing to grieve -- I was not myself for well over a year after my mother died. I still miss her every day and she's been gone since 1987. I know she's always with me, though, just like Lisa will always be with you.
