Some New Chin Owner Q's

So about a week ago I purchased my first chinchilla ever from a pet store! In the first couple of days I did a lot of research and learned a lot in the short time I've had my little buddy. He is already spoiled with toys, plenty of chew things, and hays and pellets! I only want the best for my chin!

I let him run around my room (yes, it's chin proof) and lay on the floor and he runs and jumps all over me. He also has started making this cute little sound which I think means he's happy? I'm not entirely sure. But I was just looking for advice or feedback or recommended places to buy chin supplies. Also, I haven't been able to hold him. I know they arnt really cuddle animals but I was just making sure this was normal. He does love ear and chin scratches though!

(He is 2 and used to be owned, then was sold to a pet store for a couple months, and now is in his forever home!

It is very normal for him to act that way. He is still interacting with you and is enjoying the scritches - some chins don't even like that! You may find that in time he will hop up on you for a bit while he's playing and that may be as close to a cuddle as you get.
