Is Snak Shak bad for chins? If it is, why is it? I see lots of stores sell these, so I just wanna know if they're safe for chins. Are they safe for any other animals, like hamsters?

The Snak Shak and other items like it are horrible for chins due to the sugar content. As far as whether or not they're OK for other animals, you'd have to wait for someone to come around.

I wouldn't get them for any animal that is listed on the packaging (rabbit, guinea pig, etc.) for the same reason: sugar content. Also, I once bought one for a hamster and it was soiled with urine within a couple days, got soft and mushy, and fell apart... it was a waste of money.

Ew, that's gross. Sounds like the Snak Shak is crap. I just saw lots of Snak Shaks being sold, but didn't want to buy one in case it was bad...

Personally I think one of the hardest things to figure out as a new chin owner is what is an isn't chin safe...most things sold in pet stores are either unsafe or just crap. Like those tubes of "treats" (bananna chips etc) are deadly but say your chin will love them. Even things like apple wood, which is okay for chins (most of which love aw) usually isn't worth the money because the wood is stale or just kinda cruddy and my chins wont even touch it...There is a supplier list on here, I would suggest ordering something from someone on here that really knows and understands what is both good and enjoyable for the chins
