One of my standard girls was pulled from breeding 3 weeks ago because she had dropped a little bit of weight and after a year with two males decided just to pull her all together. So I shut her run door and have been weighing her weekly. She put some weight back on and was acting fine. Anyhow, Thursday morning I went down to check on everyone and rotate babies. Everybody was in their own cage. That evening I went down to dust and slippers was in her cage. Great, I thought. Slippers is a very aggressive male and is ten times worse when he is breeding. I tried pushing him back in the run to get the run door to shut him back off. After him attacking the pan and nailing me 4 times I was able to get him back in the run and shut the door. But it was too late. He was so darn determined he/she took the run door off and she was bred. I have never had that happened before. It was crazy and my hand is sore!
