In the four years I have had Trixie I have dealt with the sleep barking, so it is not new to me. Usually a soft word from me and she is fine. But today she was suddenly up on top of her wooden hut just barking and barking. When I went over to try to reassure her she would just gt skittery and run away from me. Though I normally do not give her treats during the day, I brought over a few Cheerios, and she wanted no part of them. I put 3 of them down on her perch and she finally came over and ate them, and is now back in bed.
Do you think it was just a bad dream or something? The TV is on, but she is used to that on the weekends, and there have been no unusual noises from outside this morning. Just not sure why she got so anxious.

We live 1/4 mile from the county fire station. This happens pretty much every time there's a midnight call, but of course we can't hear the sirens. They, however, can and feel the need to warn us that "OMG the SKY is FALLING!!!" :) Cervantes also kecks at fireworks.

Thanks. My husband said later that it may just have been a delayed effect of the thunderstorms that have been running through here a lot lately. She has been fine the rest of the weekend. I took her out for a run last night, and when I was carrying her back to her cage, I got a lot of nuzzles under my chin from her.
