Has anyone really heard anything about Sensa? It's a stuff you sprinkle on your food.

I have the problem that my stomach tells me when I'm full, but my brains wants to keep eating... I didn't know if this might help me get over that.

I've been eating smaller more frequent meals, which is helpful as well, because I never feel really hungry, I even eat something small ( and usually healthy ) even if I don't feel hungry, this is what I used to do when I worked a 8 to 5 and that along with moderate exercise helped me lose weight.

Not looking for a miracle, just looking for something to help get me in a habit/pattern.

Not heard of Sensa but there's a lot of talk around at the moment about "mindful eating" which might be of interest to you.

Mindful Eating works on the theory that we don't really pay attention to what our bodies are telling us and/or to what we are actually eating. For example, we choose a "treat" for ourselves (a chocolate bar or a bowl of popcorn) and instead of savouring every mouthful we get distracted by something - email, TV, movie etc - and we suddenly find we've eaten the entire treat without noticing it. Multitasking ruins the pleasure of eating nice foods.
In the same way, because we are not paying attention, we fail to recognise when our bodies are content with the amount of food we have eaten and we keep eating until we're stuffed.
Then there's the lack of ability to differentiate between thirst and hunger - sometimes we eat when we really just need a drink.

It's all quite interesting and fits in with what you are describing, Nicole - I actually think that most people go through their "diet" (i.e. daily eating) without noticing or paying any attention to it - how many of us have lunch at our desks at work or on the run with the kids or while reading/studying/on the PC etc etc. Either that or we're in such a hurry that we just trough down the nearest convenience food without noticing what's in it - the days of leisurely lunches are a thing of the past.

Paul McKenna uses mindful eating as part of the his "I Can Make You Thin" programme as well - he makes you "concentrate" on your food and your stomach, putting your knife and fork down between bites and eating slowly so that you taste and enjoy your food. It is supposed to make you take pleasure in your food and eat without becoming over full - you take time to look at the food, take in the aromas, the colours, the textures, take a mouthful, put your fork down and then really enjoy that mouthful - the textures, the distinct flavours, the sensation of crunching ............ and because you are eating slowly and whilst paying attention the signals from your stomach actually have time to get to your brain to stop you eating to bursting.
He has 4 "Golden Rules":
Rule 1. Eat when you feel hungry
Rule 2. Eat whatever you want
Rule 3. Eat consciously
Rule 4. Once you feel full stop eating

Even the psychologists, dieticians, and doctors are getting on board with it - there's loads of info out there on mindful eating (most of them do not cost anything either which is a bonus!). Might be worth a look before you fork out money for anything?
