I am going to start carrying them on my site, but I want to see which I should carry (or both). They will either be cut & sifted (basically crushed but larger pieces) or whole.

My chins are split. Buttons likes the cut and sifted while Chula likes them whole.

So yeah, which do your chinnies like better?

My chins are also split. Some of my chins are fine with the whole while others get very irritated by the fibers found inside. So I guess if you were to carry them, I would carry both.

I've really only ever bought the crushed rose hips b/c I have read of a lot of people who find the whole ones irritating to mouths of chinchillas. I've also read about people who give their chinchillas whole rose hips without any problems, so if you can carry both then I'd say go for both.

I don't give mine a choice, they get whole because I like to feed them that way! Lol. They all like them but maybe one or 2 chins who don't like the prickles and give me the funniest bark when I try to give them one. But 2 out of 100 is not bad!

I have only given Idgie crushed ones. It seems that the whole ones are pretty big to give in one setting, plus I prefer to handfeed her small pieces as a reward for going into her cage after playtime.

I only ask because I haven't been able to find a supplier for a reasonable price on the crushed. Whole I can find for fairly reasonable but crushed are $3.20 more for a lb. I don't want to have to charge more for the crushed. :(

I forgot all about that site! Still $2.25 difference, but that's a bit better.

Now everyone knows about the cheap rosehips. lol I really wish that $6.25 "handling charge" didn't exist. Still not too bad on the money front.
