so a lil less than 2 months ago, i posted pics of me and my boyfriend at his graduation from basic training. right now im in kentcuky about to see him graduate from AIT. so after 4 long months, he finally comes home! :cheer:

i just had to share with you all! i'll post pics soon-especially pics of him and gizmo! he'll be so surprised at how much our lil chin has grown, plus, gizmo misses his dad!

such a happy day today! minus the fact i have a physics quiz when i get back to texas tomorrow :tantrum:

How exciting! I have become all too familiar with long absences from my fiance too.. Last time he had to go back to the States, he was gone for 5 1/2 months.

The way the military works, is you come back from basic, get some time home (other times you don't), then go to your training, and then come back home for a few weeks, and THEN they tell you where you are going to be stationed. It kinda sucks. She wouldn't be able to live with him unless they are married, and he has to stay on base in the dorms until he has "earned" the right to move off base, or unless he gets married. (I'm not saying to jump on the marriage boat )

It really is difficult, but you should be able to visit. I had to leave my boyfriend behind in NC because he was already in the Army for 2 years when I moved out here. It was a miracle, but just recently he was given orders to transfer to a base in Sierra Vista, AZ, which is 3 hours south of me, and he doesn't have to live in the dorms here! woo hoo! So he's been looking at places down there to live and I'm probably going down there as well.

This will really test your relationship, in a good way. Basic was the worst part. Even though he might be far away, you will still be able to talk on the phone, visit, IM, all that kinda stuff to stay in touch that you didn't have when he was in basic. Good luck!

thanks to everyone for all their congratulations and wishes!

im a bit lucky at the moment, hes in the national guard so he gets to stay home and continue with school. he shouldnt be deployed unless he volunteers or is out of school for a certain amount of time. from what i know though, he'll be staying and starting school again in january.

we have a long distance relationship anyways (2 hours-not too bad). but we've gotten used to it. we met at the same school (texas a&m in galveston)2 years ago and last year we had to transfer to texas A&M in college station after hurricane ike hit. when spring semester came, he stayed in college station and i came back. so now its just like last semester. its driving me crazy being away from him (so close but so far!) but i see him this weekend for cuddle time! haha.

its definitely been a test on our relationship. but im happy with how far we've come.

and...he has yet to see gizmo. soon though!
