There has already been a confirmed case of a cat contracting swine flu.

There has been more than one animal to contract the flu, but the cat was the only one to survive it so far, if I remember the article I read correctly. I can't find it now, of course.

A cat, some ferrets, and something else have all had confirmed cases of the swine flu. There isn't any evidence that the animals can give the swine flu to us but they are almost 100% sure that we can give the swine flu to our animals. They say if you do start having flu like symptoms to use the normal precautionary methods such as washing your hands, being sanitary, etc. Masks still don't work in preventing the transfer of germs.
