I heart Leonard
One year ago today Farrah Fawcett lost her long and valiant battle against anal cancer. Her death was so overshadowed by the death of Michael Jackson that it makes me very sad. Farrah was a beautiful woman--strong and courageous. IMO she had the most beautiful hair of any woman anywhere, EVER.
She was lucky enough, for a time, to be married to Lee Majors--woot! Aka Heath Barkley, Col Steve Austin and Colt Seavers (man I miss Lee Majors on TV)
Farrah's fame forced her to live her cancer in the public eye, and a once vibrant and beautiful woman, was sometimes caught at her worst.
Earlier this year the Academy left her out of their collage of actors/actresses who had died in 2010, yet Michael Jackson was in the collage. Their reasoning was Farrah was more of a television star and not a "movie" star. Farrah starred in more movies than Michael and won a Golden Globes award for her work in Extremities.
While I would never take away those who grieved for and are still grieving for the death of Michael Jackson, it saddens me that Farrah did not get the attention she deserved when she left us.
Rest in peace, Farrah. I know I find comfort knowing your eternal life will be forever cancer FREE.
